Data Centres Ireland is to host the tenth Eureca workshop this coming November at the RDS in Dublin.

The workshop brings together leading public sector figures to discuss driving innovation and efficiency in digital infrastructure in some of Europe’s leading case studies based in Ireland. Innovation procurement, shared digital services, data centre energy efficiency, and sustainability are among the topics discussed. The Eureca workshop attracts C level IT executives, ICT managers, policy makers, energy managers, data-centre managers, and procurement professionals.

The conference programme will feature local and international industry leaders and experts in their field in panel discussions, presentations, workshops, case studies, and Q&A sessions.

Speakers at the event include Barry Lowry, the government’s chief information officer. Lowry’s primary task is taking forward the public service ICT Strategy, which sets out ambitions for developing the use of shared services, digital services and data to better serve the people of Ireland. Lowry was previously the director for IT shared services and strategy and head of the IT profession within the Northern Ireland civil service.

Caron Alexander will also be speaking at the event. Alexander is director of digital shared services for the Northern Ireland government and head of the ICT profession. She is responsible for the provision of IT Infrastructure shared services to 25,000 public servants and is focused on increasing this customer base to drive greater efficiencies.

This includes provision of network services, desktop services, server provision and hosting and data centres.
