14.15 – 14.20 Welcome and Introduction

As the Digital Transformation of the AEC sector begins to take shape the convergence of existing technologies and the emergence of new collide in a perfect storm of opportunity challenging us to keep an open mind to seek and apply new learnings that will benefit project outcomes.

Digitalisation of workflows across our industry will bring improved productivity and drive efficiencies in the way we design, construct and operate multi-functional and complex spaces across the built environment. To this end Common Data Environments will evolve to become data centric with deep integration to Building Information Modelling, enabling delivery of highly efficient Asset Information Models that meet with both Employers Requirements and specified BIM (LOD) level of development objectives.

We will discuss some of the challenges we face and the technologies and processes that seek to overcome these challenges, we will draw on our experiences to illustrate how these technologies and workflows build bridges from design through construction and onto effective facilities management for the operational lifecycle.

Finally, a look to the future, industry 4.0 and what’s in store……. evolving and disruptive technologies and how convergence and emergence will complete the digital transformation of the industry by the year 20??
