Damian Dalton


Damian Dalton is an associated prof of Computer Science at University College Dublin lecturing on computer architecture, and innovation and entrepreneurship at UCD and Fudan university, Shanghai. He is CEO and  founder of Stratergia Ltd, who have developed a patented, innovative software-based energy metering and monitoring technology for data centres, Papillon. Papillon is  totally non-intrusive, involves no downtime, installs in  minutes, gives visibility at the server, application, virtual machine and service levels and automatically identifies and quantifies energy and capital saving actions. Stratergia have development centres at Dublin, Stockholm and Graz and were nominated at the DataCentreDynamics, international data centre awards at London in December 2015, and more recently became the first Irish company to become a business development partner in the EU’s largest sustainable energy programme, Kic-Innoenergy based in Eindhoven. He is also Chairman of the Environmental Association of Universities and Colleges, Irish chapter, a board member of the Irish Swedish Chamber of Commerce and several other expert panels for EU-funded data centre research projects. He is also very proud to be chairman of the UCD symphony orchestra.
