Data Edge has announced that it is launching a new service to the Irish market which will help reduce the environmental impact of data centres. This rollout follows the company’s new partnership with Daxten, the UK-founded data centre optimisation specialist.
The partnership will enable Data Edge to distribute the Packet Power solution to its Irish customers – which will in turn help them to lower costs, avoid outages, improve operational efficiency, and ultimately reduce energy consumption. The advanced Packet Power wire free monitoring solution also allows data centre and facility managers to track power and environmental conditions throughout their data centres, delivering real-time insights and enabling greater efficiency.
The Packet Power brand is currently analysing more than 100 million data points each hour across its customer sites, spanning more than 30 countries and 25 industries.
Furthermore, it can also be used to minimise cooling costs and avoid hot spots, thus preventing unplanned outages throughout the data centres. As well as reducing the environmental impact of data centres and extending their lifecycles through better management and visibility of energy consumption, this bespoke wire-free monitoring tool allows operators to maintain compliance with regulations and service level agreements.
Data Edge is a valued Daxten channel partner for the Packet Power wire-free radio monitoring product range in Ireland. It expects uptake for this solution among its existing customer base and across a wide range of sectors, particularly the telecommunications industry.
Data Edge will have the latest power monitoring technology on display at the Data Centres Ireland show in the RDS in Dublin on the 16th and 17th of November.
Paul Phelan, CEO, Data Edge, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Daxten to offer the Packet Power monitoring brand to our Irish customers. While power and environmental monitoring can feel overwhelming, it doesn’t have to be. Through this solution, organisations can easily take control of their power usage and better manage their energy consumption.
“Not only does it make data centres more efficient and less expensive, it boosts their performance and is also – more importantly – better for the environment. Being able to support our customers in this space, delivering even more business benefits, and extend our commitment to sustainability is incredibly rewarding.”
Chad Rislov, Managing Director, Daxten, added: “We are excited to partner with Date Edge and welcome them on board as a valued channel partner. They add the Packet Power monitoring range to their portfolio at a time when energy consumption is one of the biggest challenges data centre operators are facing today. Advancements in data centre technology is definitely the way forward.
“By enabling better power capacity management and monitoring, we are giving operators the power to plan for a better, greener future. Together, Daxten and Data Edge can support businesses to reach their goals and help make their buildings smarter.”
