The Context:

As of Q1 2020, there are sixty data centres of various sizes currently operating in Ireland, with twelve already under construction and a further twenty-six data centres in the pipeline with approved planning permission.

Power usage by operating Datacentres accounts for circa 700MW which as new developments come on board as predicted, is expected to rise to 1,700 MW by 2025.
