Powerduct Pro – Redefining Busduct Trunking Technology

In today’s rapidly evolving energy and infrastructure landscape, the demand for reliable, efficient, and safe power distribution has never been greater. RST Power Distribution’s Powerduct Pro Series sets a new benchmark in busduct trunking systems, delivering cutting-edge engineering, uncompromising safety, and exceptional performance for industrial, commercial, and data-centre applications.

Advanced Housing Design

At the core of Powerduct Pro is its extruded aluminium housing with cooling fins, designed for superior thermal performance and structural strength. This innovative construction ensures greater heat dissipation, low impedance, and reduced voltage drop while keeping the system compact, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant. Tested to IEC 61439-6:2012, the housing achieves the highest short-circuit withstand ratings and ingress protection levels of IP68 for feeders and IP55 for plug-in sections, making it dust-tight and water-resistant even under the harshest conditions.

Safety and Compliance

Safety is built into every element of the Powerduct Pro system. Plug-in outlets are finger-safe to IP2X, fitted with hinged covers and padlocks for enhanced operator protection. Plug-in units feature mechanical interlocks that prevent removal or insertion while energised, as well as earth-first connections to eliminate electrical hazards during installation. For added convenience, the system incorporates an optional thermal indicator, providing continuous visual monitoring of joint temperatures without the need for intrusive inspections.

Superior Conductor Technology

Powerduct Pro offers busbars in both high-conductivity copper (99.9% IACS) and aluminium (60% IACS), with optional tin or silver plating to optimise conductivity and reduce resistance. The conductors are epoxy-coated, ensuring complete protection against water, rust, and chemicals while withstanding thermal cycling and mechanical stresses. The system also supports true 200% neutral construction, a crucial advantage for managing harmonic currents generated by modern non-linear loads such as IT equipment, LED drivers, and electronic ballasts.

Flexible and Efficient System Design

The Powerduct Pro system is engineered for versatility, offering a full range of feeders, plug-in sections, elbows, tees, offsets, reducers, tap boxes, expansion fittings, and flanged ends. This modular approach allows seamless integration into complex layouts while reducing installation time and cost. The patented bridge-type joint stack with double-headed shear bolts ensures secure, maintenance-free connections, while Belleville spring washers maintain constant contact pressure over time. Together, these features deliver a system that is not only robust but also installer-friendly.

Energy Optimisation and Reliability

With low reactance non-magnetic housing and intimate busbar contact, Powerduct Pro delivers extremely low impedance and voltage drop, directly translating into reduced energy losses and operational savings. The system has been tested under 95% humidity and 50°C ambient conditions, ensuring reliable performance in challenging environments. Its proven fire-rated options, certified to IEC 60331 and BS 6387, further enhance resilience in critical applications, maintaining circuit integrity during fire scenarios.

The Future of Power Distribution

As buildings, data centres, and industrial plants demand more flexible, energy-efficient, and safe electrical infrastructure, the Powerduct Pro Series provides the ideal solution. Its blend of advanced engineering, international certification, and installer-focused design makes it a trusted choice for consultants, contractors, and facility owners alike.

Powerduct Pro is more than a busduct system—it is a future-proof investment in performance, safety, and sustainability.
