Biography
Chris Boorman, started out in engineering designing leading edge Computer Systems for the Canadair Regional Jet Aircraft program with GEC Marconi Avionics, a role he was recruited to directly after finishing his higher diploma in Electronics with Microprocessor Engineering. After his second visit to University, where this time he gained an Honours Degree in Business and Electronics, he installed Digital Communication Systems in the City of London (for Gandalf Digital Communications) again as an engineer, then moved into the Sales function. He was recruited by Netscape Internet Communications in another Sales & Marketing role introducing the Internet to UK and Ireland. Three years later he agreed to join Trinity Technology Group, Dublin, where he built Europe’s first fully online Bank (Enba / First-e). Moving back up north for family reasons he was appointed Partner Manager then Strategic Business Alliances Manager for BT Northern Ireland, delivering a number of high profile projects over 8 years, including BT eBusiness Manager a range of 22 inter-connected internet software applications delivered from the BT Data Centre in Belfast. There then followed a move to consultancy for various projects including Wind Turbine and Anaerobic Digestion projects along with an EcoTech product portal, and SavaWatt lighting and AC/refridgerant power saving projects. Chris was the First Gov’t accredited installer of Wind Turbines and Solar Panels in County Derry, and even qualified as an Electrician during this time. More recently, he moved back to IT with a number of local technology companies, and is now the Business Development Manager for Prescient Data Centres, Northern Ireland.
