David Seger

David is a global subject matter expert and technologist professional with Jacobs’ Advanced Facilities group, one of the largest professional services providers to the electronics, life sciences, and specialized manufacturing markets.  He is a registered professional mechanical engineer in several jurisdictions in the United States, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional, and an Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer.

With over 35 years of operations and design engineering experience in the U.S. and internationally, clients turn to David for his expertise in mission critical facilities.  He is experienced in semiconductor plant operations and has executed design projects for various critical mission industries including major data centers, high performance compute facilities, and microelectronic semiconductor and lithium ion battery manufacturing facilities.  His facility design experience includes multiple configurations of critical environment airflow management systems for cleanrooms and data centers, central plant systems, general HVAC systems, process and general exhaust systems, and plumbing and fire protection systems.  He has developed innovative design solutions for data centers that utilize air-side economizers, water-side economizers, high and low-temperature chilled water systems, heat recovery systems, and thermal energy storage systems.

David has co-authored technical articles on the data center industry and has been a speaker and panelist at multiple industry conferences including 7×24 Exchange, The Uptime Symposium, Data Centers Europe, TelaData Technology Convergence, and the Data Center Users Group.

Outside of Jacobs and everyday life, David is the trombone player in the Never Too Late Little Big Band.
