James Thornton is a senior leader at TSL, serving as Director of Sustainability and Compliance and a member of the company’s Group Board of Directors. With over fifteen years of experience across the construction, technology, and hospitality sectors, James brings a strategic, cross-disciplinary perspective weaving sustainability into business growth and operational delivery.

He is recognised for his leadership in developing and implementing corporate strategies aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, and has positioned TSL at the forefront of sustainable design and responsible construction across the logistics, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and data centre markets.

A core part of his role includes assisting TSL’s clients navigate complex in-country compliance frameworks amid the rapid expansion of the data centre sector, ensuring that growth and delivery are achieved responsibly in full alignment with local regulations, cultural expectations, and global sustainability objectives.
