Biography

Dr Joseph Gibbons is the Advisory & Analytics Lead for Natural Power Ireland.  He has over 15 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector and leads multidisciplinary advisory assignments across wind, solar, battery energy storage (BESS) and hybrid energy projects in Ireland and internationally.

Joseph specialises in technical due diligence, project financing, acquisitions, and commercial advisory services for renewable energy developments.  He has extensive experience supporting clients on energy offtake arrangements, including the review of power purchase agreements (PPAs), behind-the-meter energy supply structures, and contractual arrangements for the purchase and sale of renewable electricity.

Through the Advisory & Analytics team, he supports clients seeking to optimise on-site renewable energy solutions through the assessment of energy consumption profiles, renewable generation performance and energy offtake arrangements.  He has advised developers, investors, lenders and energy consumers across a wide range of renewable energy projects throughout Europe.

Joseph holds a PhD from Heriot-Watt University and has published peer-reviewed research on renewable energy technologies.  He regularly contributes to industry thought leadership through conference speaking, industry publications and collaboration with academic and research institutions.
